I began practicing yoga in January of 2012 and quickly found my life’s new passion! Following my wonderful business partner, Alicia Epps, in her practice led me to bigger things in my yoga life. We bought My Hot Yoga in January of 2013 and it has been such an amazing journey.
I bring a completely different component to this partnership. I grew up in the shadows of my Dad who has been a very successful business man all of his life. He taught me the “business” side of business. I have been in accounting, bookkeeping and management for 18 years, and while I am responsible for all the business side of the studio, my passion for yoga grows every day. Its something about taking 60 or 75 minutes for yourself that I never got to experience in the years prior to! It changed my life in so many different ways physically and mentally, and I am so incredibly excited to see where this journey takes me!

I have practiced Yoga for over 8 years and found Yoga down a long hard journey. Years of teaching aerobics and body building took a toll on my body, so I started walking to stay in shape and was spending a lot of time riding our horses. I noticed that I was losing my flexibility and looked for options to regain it, which is what led me to Yoga. After my first Yoga class I had a personal revelation of the unnecessary stress that I had put my body through for all the years and was amazed of how calm and peaceful I was at the end of class. After doing Iyengar Yoga for years, I decided to work on my Yoga certification for my own personal knowledge. During my studies I became very interested in Bikram (hot) Yoga. I went to my first class and loved it, I was instantly hooked. I had finally found a workout where I could sweat and still be kind to my body. With Hot Yoga you can come to focus on a hard workout, work on your flexibility, weight loss or come to class to unwind and relieve stress from your daily life and leave calmer and ready to face the world. When not in the Yoga room you can usually find us busy with the horses, horse shows, camping, canoeing or on the dirt bikes enjoying the outdoors.

When My Hot Yoga opened their doors in 2011, I found a great marriage between my love of Iyengar yoga and my passion for hot yoga. When you attend one of my classes, you can expect to have a fun and challenging class. I try to mix in just the right amount of detail so my students have the opportunity to learn, but don’t get bored. Each class is different so if there is something specific you would like to work on, just let me know.
I was in yoga the other day. I was in full lotus position. My chakras were all aligned. My mind is cleared of all clatter and I’m looking out of my third eye and everything that I’m supposed to be doing. It’s amazing what comes up, when you sit in that silence. “Mama keeps whites bright like the sunlight, Mama’s got the magic of Clorox 2.” -Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen’s quote perfectly describes my yoga practice! It’s funny and true how the craziest things will enter the mind during yoga practice. I didn’t know much about yoga when I first found an interest in it. All I knew was that Dixie Carter did yoga and she could twist into some crazy shapes. I figured that if Julia Sugarbaker could do yoga, so could I! My first class was back in 2003 with a group of coworkers. It was an enjoyable experience so I came back the following week.
The foundation of my practice is based in Iyengar yoga. I’ve always enjoyed the variety of poses practiced in an Iyengar class as well as the attention to detail given to each student. In 2009, my practice evolved to include hot yoga. Through hot yoga, I found a consistent, daily practice and really experienced the true benefits available through a strong practice.

Yoga is my life to say the least! I do not know where I would be had I not been introduced to this amazing practice and lifestyle. Everything I do is centered on the principles and teachings of the yogic tradition, and it is such a beautiful way to lead a life. I came to the practice suffering with anxiety issues and quickly realized yoga is how I was to heal. After studying, practicing and dabbling in teaching for some time I decided to partake in yoga teacher training with the amazing Beth Spindler, who continues to be my guide and inspiration. Through this training I found my calling! I teach yoga as a way to heal mind, body, and spirit. A way to learn who you truly are and to live to your full potential. I am passionate about helping students learn to use their bodies, breath, and energy to better themselves in all faucets of life. What we do and learn on the mat is directly linked to our daily lives. My aim is for you to have an experience during class, not just move your body and work up a sweat. It is an honor to assist you all in your personal journeys as I continue to explore my own. Namaste!
Seth Williams
Instructor, RYT-200, B.S. Pscyhology, M.S. Psychology
Seth is a proponent of the idea of grey vinyasa, which is intentionally vague concept. Each practice is different from student to student, class to class, day to day. Tradition, yoga and otherwise, has value as a stepping stone to the future, but should not anchor the practice in the past. When he teaches he draws from life experience, his educational background,( B.S. Psych, M.S. Psych, RYT200) and his own personal practice. Music, humor, are important tools to keep the student engaged, not only during a particular class, but over the course of a lifetime. Seth can and does teach a variety of styles, but is most often identified as power yoga instructor, challenge the body and mind, and spirit will follow.

From a young age movement has been a huge part of my life. I grew up dancing, primarily ballet. When I stopped dancing in my early teens I still wanted to keep my flexibility and strength. I began going to yog aand group exercise classes to keep in shape, but to also have fun! I began teaching Barre in 2012 at Balance Fitness in Springfield,Missouri. I fell in love with teaching and my world changed. I began teaching Vinyasa (flow) style classes, barre, and fitness classes in 2014 at Missouri State University where I also supervised the group exercise program. I graduated in December of 2015 with an emphasis in Exercise and Movement Science & Dietetics. In the March of 2016 I completed my RYT 200 in beautiful Baja, Mexico at Yandara Yoga Institute. Sharing the gift of yoga is the best feeling in the world. My style ranges from power vinyasa to yin and restorative in hopes to bring dynamic and universal yoga to everyone.
